Jibon Paul has been appointed the staff reporter at Sylhet Office of ‘The Daily Deshbangla’, the liberation war publication of the 1970s & one of the country’s renowned newspapers.
The appointment letter and the identity card were handed over to Mr. Jibon Paul in the departmental representative conference attended by all the representatives of districts & upazilas of four districts-Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar and Habiganj under Sylhet Division on thursday (September 22). Nationally acclaimed editor of ‘The Daily Deshbangla’ newspaper, journalist Saidur Rahman Rimon, journalist Chameli Rahman, CEO Sehli Parveen, Head of News Sajib Akbar were present at that time.

Earlier, Mr. Jiban Paul worked as a reporter for the national daily ‘Daily Amader Orthoneeti’ & ‘Sylheter Janapad’ programme at Moulvibazar office of ‘Channel S’, UK. He has been working as a staff reporter for oldest newspaper of Sylhet ‘The Daily Jugobheri’ for a long time. Along with that, Mr. Jibon also worked in Daily Sylhet Dak, Daily Sabuj Sylhet, Daily Jalalabad, Daily Sylhet, Sylhet Voice, Daily Bijoyer Protiddhoni of Habiganj. Moreover, he has worked as programme coordinator of a private channel’s Dhaka office. At one time, he served as the news editor of ‘Saptahik Sreemangal Barta’ newspaper published from Sreemangal. He served as a staff reporter of this newspaper for a long period of time.

It is known that Jibon Paul involved himself with writing right from his school days. His interest in writing continued to grow when his poems and stories were published in the very first daily newspaper of Sreemangal ‘The Daily Kholachithi’ during his school life. Later, he worked for the literature page of the newspaper ‘The Daily Kholachithi’ for some time under the direction of KP Das Bulu who was in charge of News Editor of the daily at that time.Then, inspired by the News Editor, Jibon Paul became associated himself with the world of news in 2006. He also rendered his service in Weekly ‘Sreemangaler Chithi’, ‘Shribhumi’ and ‘Chayer Desh’ respectively published from Sreemangal.

Mr. Jibon also worked as Newsroom Editor and Program Presenter at Sylhet Office of ‘One Bangla News Network’ published from London for a long time. He is also serving in ‘CBNA’ news agency published from Canada & ‘London Times’ published from London.
